Match Report: Round 1 v South Mornington

16 Apr 2015 by Dave Allan

North Brunswick’s season began with the long drive down to South Mornington who are back down in D4 this year. With plenty of new faces on the track and an optimistic feeling in the air, we were looking forward to finally playing for points.

The reserves started a little slower than they would have wanted, but with a lot hard work and persistence managed to find their feet and led at the 3 quarter time break. While they were unlucky to miss out on the win, they did show a lot of promise for the rest of the season.

In the seniors match, the Bulls delivered a dominant performance to completely out muscle their opponents. B. Gallagher and Manoukian were simply too strong up forward adding 8 goals between them. The midfield brigade supplied great pressure and delivery forward all day with McErvale, S. Gallagher and Zuidema the standouts. The back six sent a strong message for things to come this year by continually repelling any attacking entry from the Tigers. All in all, a great team performance to kick off the season.
